Early Life and Education
Dave Christensen was born on January 17, 1961, in Everett, Washington. He grew up in a sports-loving family and developed a passion for football at a young age. Christensen attended the University of Washington, where he played as an offensive lineman for the Huskies. After completing his undergraduate degree, he went on to earn a master’s degree in education from Eastern Washington University.
Coaching Career
Christensen began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Eastern Washington University, where he honed his skills and developed a deep understanding of the game. He quickly rose through the ranks and eventually became the head coach at Eastern Washington in 1996. Under his leadership, the Eagles experienced great success and won multiple conference championships.
In 2002, Christensen joined the staff at the University of Wyoming as the offensive coordinator. He made a significant impact on the program and helped guide the Cowboys to their first bowl game in over a decade. In 2009, he was named head coach at Wyoming and continued to build on the team’s success.
After his tenure at Wyoming, Christensen served as the offensive coordinator at Texas A&M before returning to the University of Utah as the assistant head coach and offensive coordinator. Throughout his coaching career, Christensen has been known for his innovative offensive strategies and ability to develop talented players.
Personal Life
Off the field, Christensen is a devoted husband to his wife Susie and a loving father to their three children: D.J., Katie, and Emily. Despite the demands of his coaching career, he always makes time for his family and prioritizes their well-being.
