Early Life and Education
Alvin Drew was born on November 5, 1962, in Washington, DC, to Benjamin Drew, Sr. and Muriel Drew. From a young age, Alvin was fascinated by space exploration and dreamed of becoming an astronaut. He attended the United States Air Force Academy where he excelled in his studies and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics. He later went on to earn a Master of Science degree in Aerospace Science from Embry–Riddle Aeronautical University.
Early Career
After completing his education, Alvin Drew joined the United States Air Force as a pilot and flew combat missions during Operation Desert Storm.
