Chanida Phaengdara Potter was born on May 28, 1984, in Viang Xai, Laos. Growing up in a small village in Laos, she experienced firsthand the challenges faced by many in her community. Despite the obstacles, Chanida’s passion for writing and storytelling began at a young age.
Education and Career Beginnings
After moving to the United States with her family at a young age, Chanida pursued her education and eventually earned a degree in English Literature. It was during her time in college that she discovered the power of storytelling as a tool for social change.
Writing as Advocacy
Chanida’s writing often focuses on issues faced by the Laotian community, including immigration, cultural identity, and social justice. Through her work, she aims to amplify the voices of those who are often marginalized and overlooked.
