Early Life and Education
Dave Camp was born on July 9, 1953, in Midland, Ontario, Canada. He grew up in a politically active family, with his parents Norma L. Nehil and Robert D. Camp instilling in him a strong sense of civic duty from a young age. Camp attended Herbert Henry Dow High School in Midland before going on to pursue higher education.
He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Albion College in Michigan. Camp went on to further his education by obtaining a Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego School of Law and a Master of Laws in Taxation from the University of Sussex in England.

After completing his education, Camp began his career as a tax attorney, specializing in tax law and policy. He worked for several law firms before eventually transitioning into politics.
