Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye was born on June 11, 1965, in Accra, the capital city of Ghana. He hails from the Greater Accra Region of Ghana. Vanderpuye attended several prestigious educational institutions in Ghana, including Presbyterian Boys’ Senior High School, Mfantsipim School, Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration, and Ghana Institute of Journalism.

Vanderpuye began his political career as a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), one of Ghana’s major political parties. He has held various positions within the party, including serving as the Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports from 2009 to 2013. In 2016, he was elected as the Member of Parliament for Odododiodio Constituency in Accra.
