Early Life and Education
Glenn Cummings was born on April 2, 1961, in Bath, Maine, United States. He grew up in a small town where he developed a strong sense of community and a passion for public service. Cummings attended Brown University, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science. He went on to complete his Master’s degree in Public Affairs from Ohio Wesleyan University and a Master’s degree in Education from the University of Pennsylvania. He later received his Doctorate in Education from Harvard University.

He served as a member of the Maine House of Representatives from 1992 to 2008, where he focused on issues related to education, healthcare, and economic development. In 2008, he was elected Speaker of the House, becoming one of the youngest Speakers in Maine’s history.
