Early Life and Education
Gregory R. Wiseman was born on November 11, 1975, in Baltimore, Maryland, United States. He grew up in Baltimore and attended Dulaney High School, where he excelled in academics and sports. Wiseman went on to pursue his higher education at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering. He later obtained a Master of Science degree in Systems Engineering from Johns Hopkins University.
Early Career
After completing his education, Wiseman joined the United States Navy and became a naval aviator. He flew various aircraft during his time in the Navy and eventually attended the United States Naval Test Pilot School, where he further honed his skills as a test pilot. Wiseman’s dedication and expertise earned him the prestigious Air Medal for his exceptional performance in aerial combat missions.
Selection as an Astronaut
In 2009, Gregory R. Wiseman was selected by NASA to join the astronaut candidate class.
