Early Life and Education
George Karl was born on May 12, 1951, in the city of Pennsylvania, United States. He attended Penn Hills High School where he excelled in basketball. Karl continued his education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he played college basketball under legendary coach Dean Smith.
